Big breakfast and many snacks

After a sort of a quarrel, breakfast was Ampang Yong Tau Fu on Sunday! Well.. quarrel cos i had made plans with Gramps EARLY in the week, reminded them a day before, but gramma gladly postponed the plans and accepted others.. sigh.. i kinda felt pushed aside.

Anyway, a decision was reached, and we went to Foong Foong Restaurant in Ampang for Yong Tau Foo..

Yong Tau Foo is basically stuffed vegetables, mainly brinjals, tofu, beancurd skin, ladies fingers, bitter gourds, chillies..

We reached there at about 930 am.. there was already quite a number of tables filled up.. but 5 mins later, people had to wait for their tables. So thank God, we were just in time..

Grampa did the ordering.. so i think you should know it means alot was ordered.

I had two of these.. was quite nice. with some radishes and carrots in the mince meat of the dumping.. The mince pork was tasty..

ytfThis is basically what yong tau fu is.. And of course, i attacked the brinjals! Had 4 brinjals, 1 foo chok roll,  some tofu..

Normally, i don’t eat the stuffing (made out of fish paste), but i ate some cos these were one of the best i’ve eaten. Soft and tasty. I love the brinjals!! Dipped in the sweet sauce given, it was delicious!

The tofu was fresh, and felt homemade.. Was nice, and dear agreed!! I didn’t really like the foo chook.i guess i prefer the flat ones without stuffing, but they don’t serve it here.

I also had a dried beancurd (tau foo pok).. Was soft and easy to bite..

friedMany many many fried dumplings were ordered too.. This is what Foong Foong is famous for!! I love it.. The wanton skin had the crispy edges (which i ate all of from the few leftovers..), and the filling was tasty, and had no pork “smell”.. I had two of these babies..

Don’t worry, we didn’t actually finish all.. but almost.. hehe.. took home the rest..

The bill came up to RM46.50 inclusive of drinks.. The cost of each piece of yong tau foo is RM0.80.. quite reasonable compared so some places charging RM1/piece.

Outside this restaurant (coffeeshop), there are a couple of small stalls selling some goodies.. dear bought us RM20 worth of roasted chestnuts = 1kg, which me and dear finished it throughout the day, thus we didn’t have a proper lunch, but alot of snacks.The chestnuts weren’t as good as the last time i had it though. They weren’t hot, which left me suspecting the guy could’ve sold us previous days ones. and the last time, there was not one which i found difficult to open.. i could open ALL with the chestnuts whole. this time, i had trouble opening most of them.

I didn’t picture what the many snacks i had, but i can name some.. Lots of mixed nuts, a famous amos cookie.. grapes, prunes, honey comb biscuits.. all these besides the chestnuts.. lol..

In between the snacks, we went to Ikea in the afternoon!

And dear managed to transport my Billy bookcase back home!

Cost RM230.. it’s a limited edition version.. Dear helped me saved RM65 and 5% of RM230 by transporting it for me in his Kenari, and setting it up for me!! Thanks dear! He helped me carry this 35kg, 202 cm flat pack in his car.. and bring it to my room.. and cleared my room for me.. and set it up.. Thanks dear!!

I didn’t do much, in terms of setting it up.. Dear did most/all of it.. hehe..

Had an apple before getting down to “work”.

By the time we were done with setting up, etc.. took Max out.. it was 740 ish when we headed to Happy City Food court Kepong for dinner.. along with gramps.

I was craving for my O’Chien: Oyster omelette!!

eggThis crispy, fragrant, and egg oyster omelette (O’Chien) never EVER fails me.. RM7 is so worth it though i never finish the oysters.. If only the stall owner would just from the egg only for me.. i would pay RM3 for even two eggs!

Shared some popiah with Grandma..

opopiahIt came in a set of 2 for RM3.50. A wrap filled with sengkuang (turnip), nuts, beansprouts.. cucumbers, and rojak sauce.. Grandma didn’t finish her portion which dear had to help out cos she didn’t like the nuts in it, unlike me, who loves nuts in ANY dish!

Gramps ordered chicken wings..

wingsRM2/wing.. pretty pricey. but tasty.. I had half a wing.. It’s much drier than the ones i had in Yuen Steamboat, which makes holding it much easier.. but after eating it.. my fingers smelt of chicken wings.. lol..

Grandma was very focused on the Ais Kacang (Shaved Ice)

icekacangI quite like the Ais Kacang in this food court cos it has lots of ingredients, and they’re not stingy with it. Lots of red beans, peanuts, and cincau (i requested for no corn and cendol)..

Dear ordered some sushi for himself..

Grampa ordered a Wantan Noodle in soup.. (Thin yellow noodles, in soup with pork slices [char siew] )

No, i didn’t forget to take a pic of my usual mixed rice.. There wasn’t any brinjals left!!! That’s the main reason i eat the mixed rice.. so i didn’t have any.. was kinda disappointed.

Sorry for the long posts for the weekend.. I promise i’ll get back to usual posts asap..

After dinner, we went to meet dear’s bro to get mooncakes!

Hehe.. more mooncakes to eat..

Finally, i’m done with the weekend.posting i mean.. i wish weekends lasted forever..hehe. i’ll update on today later..

Anything new?

not really.. lol.. got OUT of bed at about 8 today.. kept waking up and sleeping at 730ish..

Am so lazy to workout.. but i know if i get my but to it, it’d be so much better!

So i had a coffee.

What’s on top of International BusinesS?

barwas studying IB last night.. left the book on the table till i came down this morning to have a Kashi bar pre-workout.

And a coffee

coffeeTo wake me up.. getting out to workout is not easy.. it’s hardly ever going to get easy.. but coffee helps. 🙂

Worked out the usual with music! Music helps too!

After workout.. had a plum w/banana butter..

And never forget the faithful prune.. I followed gramps for their breakfast at OK coffee shop in TTDI, where i had my other half of this morning’s Kashi.

I THOUGHT class starts at 11 am.. but when i reached at 10.55, i noticed the lecturer had started teaching!! Turns out i saw the timetable wrongly, and it starts at 10.30 am! Gramps would’ve killed me if they found out. But the lecturer started late anyways..

Lecturer didn’t dismiss us early.. in fact late! He was rambling non-stop.. i feel it’s more effective reading the book on my own.

Lunch was at Black Canyon Coffee at Centrepoint..

This place has been around for quite a while. The food’s quite nice-fusion food & promoting good health, and it’s reasonable-but not CHEAP. Coffee is good.. maybe 1 or 2 dollars cheaper than starbucks.

It was pretty packed, so food was slightly slow..

Ham, roasted chicken breast, cheese slices, lettuce and tomato between three slices of toast.

That’s the explanation i found on the website… Svun’s American Club sandwich. I stole some of the fries! Told you.. put some in front of me, and i’ll have somE! Cheese and chicken seems to make Svun full.. She kept on saying she was full maybe after the 2nd piece.. but she finished it in the end. She claims the fries were old fries.. but was alright..

Pik San ordered a set meal which came with a Tomyam Soup starter and a watermelon juice..

Her main course was roasted chicken with gravy..

Pik San loves the gravy but not the peas! I had the peas! Quite a reasonable portion.. I just notices.. they have nutrition info in the website! So cool!

But i realised my seafood salad cost me nearly 400 cals!!!

Prawns, squid and fish are cooked, then tossed with a spicy sweet sauce, cashews and onions.  Served warm, not hot.

Was nice.. But the fish was slightly chewy.. i asked for extra cashews, and they did give! So yummy.. i was happily enjoying my cashews (fav part!)…This was RM8.90.. And i thought this was low cal..(which is not).. I had quarter of Grampa’s McD apple pie when i got in the car!!

And when we went to KFC to “wait” for Gramma who was at the hospital..i had some fries..

So much for a supposedly low cal lunch. So it’s lucky i was kinda late for class after Black Canyon cos i was planning to by ice cream.. but postponed it for tomorrow..

Peanut and nut butter morning

That’s what i had alot of for breakfast! had so much fun licking the spoon (what a great excuse to consume more when you can’t find the butter knife!) 😉

Had a great sleep, woke up at 820am.. cleaned up a downstairs abit before brekkie.. I was trying to decide what to have for breakfast! So many breakfast goodies in the house!

I settled with bread-sourdough from Patisfrance

breadOn the left, topped with Melrose ABC spread.. and the right is with apricot jam.. Of course, i ate the apricot one first. save the best (nut butter) for last!

A coffee to keep me awake-it’s house chores day today..

coffeeand decided to have a naner-from the fridge with more PB!!!

nanerNow, who said bananas can’t be kept in the fridge? toss it in a bag, tie it up, place it in the vegetable drawer! The skin doesn’t turn black! And also, who says you can have too much PB.. (well noone, but just made this paragraph sound good! lol. )

Didn’t have a prune cos we’re running out-don’t see any promos on them nowadays. 😦

Oh.. and here’s a look at my spinach:

Snacky night

Gosh.. i know it’s morning now, but last night, i had too much snacks! Bad! I think it was a result of not having a proper dinner.. 😦

I munched on the honey comb cookies bought yesterday, some grams.. and pistachios. Sigh.. MUST have proper DINNER! But i just didn’t know what to have.

Watched New Girl in Town-Renee Zellweger & Harry Connick Jr. Was quite nice, but i guess in words dear would say, “predictable”. but no matter what, i LOVE these kinda shows. Only got to bed at 1130pm..

Woke up at 7 ish, but off the bed at 745am! Haha.. Well.. i’m glad to say i’ve been getting decent hours of sleep compared to my working days.

Now, i plan to not run on Thursdays cos classes run from 9 to 3.30 non-stop! with a half hour break.

Anywho.. i pictured my pre-workout snack today!

coffeeCoffee to get me going. They say caffeine prolongs your stamina.. well, i’ve tried no coffee before workouts, and coffee before workouts, i guess i’m more awake.. but not really sure about stamina. About the same i suppose.

Also had a Special K Yoghurty Drizzle,

About an hour later, i had my workout. The usual with weights and situps. I’m getting used to me new intervals:

  • 7mins, incline, 9.0km/h
  • 7mins, incline, 9.2km/h
  • 7mins, no incline, 9.4km/h

Slowly, but surely i’m improving!

After the run, i had a naner with ABC spread.

nanerI’m realy beginning to love this Almond, Brazil, and Cashewnut spread by Melrose. I better not get addicted, or else it means i’ll be spending RM30 over for it! Damn taxes! it’s 33% almonds, 34% brazil nuts, and 33% cashewnut.. I’ll bug Sam to buy just the cashewnut one cos i LOVE cashews!

After the naner, i went out to harvest my spinach! Quite tiring, but i got them all out and they’re soaking in the water now to get rid of all the yucky insects! There’s like two pails of it, though i bet when cooked, it’s a really small amount. It just may be featured this Sunday for lunch-unless plans change..

Was worn out after tending to my garden patch-i’ve still yet to clear the soil of weeds though.

I was kinda hungry, so i had a couple of snacks: a small blueberry tart (peeled the pastry off)..

huggy bearThese are the ones i mixed into my trail mix.. i’m using them for the sake of finishing them. Akak JAck gave it to us. I prefer the Meiji Panda ones.

grapesGranma bought this for me yesterday from the night market. This bunch cost RM17 something! Not worth it on a daily basis, but i guess its a healthy indulgence! Thanks Granma! They were sweet, big and juicy!!

Dear is watching an airshow at Subang Airport, though he worked night shift last night. Yesterday, he asked, “Do you think i’m obsessed with military aircrafts?”.. Now, i agree.. lol.

Handi dandy

Woke up at 715 ish today though i did open my eyes a few times through out the night.. Last night, i think i bored myself reading the AFA book.. history history history.. i really hope that’s not coming out for exam cos i always thought Accounting was practical..

Had a cuppa with 2 weetameals topped with banana butter. Thanks Katie for this recipe! Genius!

Ran the usual, but nothing extra. some weights and situps. I’m getting better at the situps, doesn’t seem as difficult. Thank God.

After washing up some dishes, showered..and brekkie.. Breakkie was early, that’s why i’m posting now before driving off.

specaial kHad a special K bar.. Twas in the fridge which made it crispier.. yum! I actually liked it better that way!

Also half a Handi Snak Butter Scotch flavour..

handiTopped with some almonds for some crunch. I kinda am getting used to this pudding idea.. it’s not popular in Malaysia cos we refer puddings to jelly like substance. This was more of a mousse??

Also had a naner smaller than my phone!

Moody…

That’s what i feel today.. or rather disappointed? I don’t know..

Woke up pretty early this morning, i guess cos bedtime was early last night. Had a weird feeling in my tummy but i’m not sure what it was.. flatulencE? Anyway, was slightly pissed off last night cos dear wouldn’t stay up with me-it was only 1030 on a Friday night!

Anyway, then this morning, all was fine and dandy till he mentioned i would have to do all sorts of stuff to go to his gym-his workplace has strict regulations. And since the past few days he’s been asking if i wanted to just stay home and he go to the gym.. it just felt like i wasn’t wanted there.. And of all days to go to the gym? Why not Monday since he’s free in the afternoon? And for SURE, after gym, he’ll be worn out, and just nap… AGAIN!

Do you know anyone who sleeps so much? I mean anyone who’s healthy??

I wanted to eat home for breakfast but dear hinted he was lazy to wash up, so i just brought along my Kashi bar with me.

And i was already dressed in gym clothes and shoes, only at Modern de Cafe where we had breakfast, we changed our minds about gym. So he fetched me back  after his breakfast, and went to his all-important gym!

Sorry to be such a prick today.. i just feel that i’m always putting up with his antiques.. Sigh..

Slumber

That’s the word to describe my sleep last night!! I was in deep slumber.. what a good sleep.. I slept at 1030pm easily, and woke up at 720am : almost a 9-hour sleep. I don’t know why i’m feeling so sleepy these past few days. I guess waking up at 5 or 530 is taking a toll on me.

Anyway, i decided to split my brekkie instead of having a pre-workout snack and brekkie- i suppose that’s one way i can lose that 6kg!

So i had me a coffee

I used to have coffees before running, cos i read somewhere that caffeine gives you more stamina, but i just cut it out a while back especially when i run in the wee hours of morning-the microwave makes too many beeps when i’m heating the milk, which wakes gramps up..

Also had half of a Kashi Honey Toasted 7 grain granola bar..

barjust to show you the whole thing! This is a reenactment as my cam wasn’t with me and i don’t have the cable to my new samsung!!

I love how slim it is though! I’m still getting used to the touch screen-not easy! but Cool! And also trying to figure out the alarm..

Worked out an hour after my part 1 breakfast since i ate more than usual.. Ran at different intervals this time. 14 minutes at 9 km/h on incline and 7 min at 9.4 km/h without incline. Boy, the 14 minute wasn’t easy. I better up my times if i want to join the Marathon on Oct. 4 at Cheras.

Also did some situps and weights.. Situps are improving. Yay!

Went and harvest some of my spinach outside. Part for Akak Jack since i didn’t give her last week, and part for tonight’s dinner! I cut them as opposed to pulling them out, so i hope the rest will continue growing.

Then i washed them thoroughly, and washed MYSELF thoroughly-as in i showered 😉

Had my other half of brekkie which was basically my other half of the Kashi bar..

Am posting from college now. cos i feel that when i get home, posting 3 in 1 is not good..makes everything so long.. 🙂

Didn’t want to bring my Kashi cos i didn’t have a microwave to nuke it. So i’m considerably still hungry after ating this, but i guess i’ll go home to grab a bite before working out-yes i did not work out this morning!

I can’t believe it! i didn’t hear my alarm, neither did i remember switching it off or something. Must be the new Samsung giving me a headache-i’m still not used to it.. 😦 but i promise i did check that the alarm was on! I woke up at 6.41 am.. and was kinda shocked.. i had no time to run so i slept back and woke up at 7.10am..

Showered and stuff.. then i realised i forgot to complete some of the to-do list items last night! 😦 Like my timetable..

Had a bowl of cereal today!

I didn’t mix today.. wanted to see how a pure bowl of All-Bran would last me. Topped with some flax seed and almonds/cashews-i toasted fresh ones last night! Yay..

The flax kinda sank to the bottom of the milk, so i didn’t consume it with my cereal..it was in my coffee

Which i made with the leftover milk.. The allbran is nice to eat cos it’s so tiny, that 3/4 cup gives  you alot to bite! So i t took me quite a while to finish it..

Believe it or not, they were green yesterday.. today, they’re ripe and yellow.. boo for unripe naner lovers like me!

Also added a couple more nuts.. which i didn’t photograph! Sowee!

I guess i will fit my run after classes. So far..classes are kinda boring.. BPC was an intro.. and i think the lecturer assumes we know alot-the questions she gave-some she didn’t even mention in her lecture

AFA was boorriingg..not the lecturer’s fault though. the topic was like history of accounting!!

Sigh.. Ok..i’ve gots  ta go now! Ta

New gadget!

What a surprise this morning. When i was sending dear off to work, Uncle  (mom’s friend) dropped my behind dear’s car! Haha.. Dear said hi and went off cos he was already late!

Uncle came in and met with gramps.. It’s been awhile seeing him and mom, but mom’s busy working. Chatted with him and found out mom’s thyroid is better, practically gone. But she has caapal tunnel syndrome, which is bad news cos means she may have difficulty with her music! Pray she gets better..

Uncle pratically gave me his phone in exchange for the Sony i was using!! 🙂

Am still trying to find the model.. lol.. can’t figure it out.. will update you once i do..

while chatting with Uncle, i had 4 Weetameals to prep for my workout..

I hope i still have the energy to wake up daily for my workout when college starts…tomorrow!!

Ran, did some situps. i find that the 1st interval is when i feel most energetic. it goes downhill from then on. 😦

Had a light-ish brekkie cos we’re gonna meet Akaks at 12 for lunchies.

bar3Sorry.. i didn’t know i took the pic of the bar upside down, on the other side, there’s yoghurt drizzle.. This bar is better than the 90 cal Special K. It’s chewy, but the flakes are somewhat crispy at the same time. One i opened it, i had a whif of mango scent! It’s not too sweet, surprisingly, cos i find most bars are, besides Kashi‘s. Kashi’s are definitely more natural, but this Kellogg’s ones are alright too. I guess lower in cals? Kashi’s are about 140 (chewy ones) and Kellogg’s only 100 cals. But if you’re looking at the ingredients list, Kashi’s have less complicated words! Lol..

nanerA riped one though.. Not many left, so may buy more.. My family loves naners! So it’s gone fast, especially when they’re ripe ones. I’m the only one who wants unripe ones.

Also had me a coffee with 1/4 cup Magnolia Skim Milk.

Will be leaving the house in about an hour.. but i feel sleepy. i guess cos i didn’t sleep back after sending dear off as i would normally do..

Uni starts tomorrow. I’m slightly terribly scared cos it’s been ages (3 months) since i studied/did assignments. I’m afraid i waould fall back. And i seriously do not want to cos it will ruin all hope of First class honours.. God, help me. give me strength.

There was an option of going to UK for the next semester.. I kinda wanted to go.. and a few things held me back..

I think Money was the major problem .. One would eneed 25k to go there for 6 months. I definitely would have loved to go.. i just saw some of my friends profiles on Facebook.. and i kinda envy them.. sigh.. anyway, at least i’ve my family and dear close to me..

Oh well.. I should stop visiting Facebook.. makes me.. depressed? lol..
