Yes, it sounds wrong. Bolognese is a meat sauce with beef and chicken. But after having pork this morning, i don’t thing a second round of meat would do our bodies good.
I headed to Tesco after breakfast with gramps while the BF went home to prep for his exam tomorrow (please, pray for him! ) Gramps wanted to start eating at home more often (this only lasts a few weeks) so they bought some bacon and ham. Sadly, milk prices have not gone down. sigh.
Came home, cleaned up the house a bit, but i still haven’t got to bathing the fattie, but will do so after this post.
He’s back on his cone again, and i don’t think he’s too happy about it. But it’s his own fault for biting his butt till his skin goes red.
Lunch was quick. (wonder how come the BF can be hungry after such a big brekkie). But he WAS doing lots of housework today.
I made a quick Salmon Bolognese.
- 1 large onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 can tomatoes
- 1big tbsp tomato puree
- 1 can salmon (i used Rex)
- oregano, s&p to taste (sugar if needed)
- mixed vege
I sautéed the onions and garlic in some OO. Then i tossed in the canned salmons (i didn’t know there were bones! Rex is not so good). I remember Tesco Malaysia brought in the UK ones, but they stopped. Those were deboned. Anyway, i then tossed in the tomatoes, tomato paste and herbs, s&p and sugar. Till it was boiling hot (the idea is to warm it up as the salmon is cooked). I added in some mixed vege (note, this alters the taste a little) as i was too lazy to make any side vegetable dish.
I used whole grain fusili.
It was alright, but i may opt out the mixed vege the next time around, and i’ll hunt for BETTER canned salmon.
I’m gonna bathe the fattie wearing the cone now!
