Grocery shopping @ Giant

Lunch @ Kelana Jaya-Ali Rojak

rojak

Comments: We were the first customers as he was barely opened by 1230pm. So you can gurantee everything was fresh. We were also barely the first customers cos right after us, there were a few more regulars waiting in line. They didn’t even need to tell Ali what they wanted.

My Rojak, a.k.a, Malaysian Salad, consisted of an egg, turnip shreds, cucumber shreds, 1 tofu, 1 keropok (prawn cracker) and one “coconut”.

Costs for a rojak here can be between RM2-RM3.50..

I asked for the sauce on the side cos i thought i would consume less sauce, but i wiped the plate clean anyway. This rojak beats Kayu’s anytime!

The coconut was so fresh, and the keropok was crispy! The sauce, is not TOO spicy just nice.

Ali Rojak-in a van, located outside the old Kelana Jaya Giant supermarket, were alot of vans are selling foods.

Came home with lots of groceries in hand.

Church=Mass

Dinner= Cheras!

Teochew porridge + Claypot chicken rice

teochew

Clockwise from bottom left:

Tofu: Quite fresh-nothing to shout about

Peanuts: Not canned, prepped on their own. Quite good..

Ham Choy-salted veg: sourish?

Salted egg: i don’t like salted eggs! lol

Beans=my fav! i need to learn how to cook that!

Choy Keok: not bad. lots of veg unlike Section 17’s one.

claypot

Those who love the crusty bits of claypot chicken rice will be in heaven eating this. though today’s crusty bits were too salty!

Not alot of chicken though.

Bill came to about RM80.. (3 big pots of claypot chicken rice, and a few additional teochew porridge dishes + the pic + drinks)
