I learnt that today when looking at the food at Shiang Hee..
I know presentation means alot when it comes to food.
But Shiang Hee is plain and simple. So the deliciousness may be deceived..
Grandma wanted to have curry fish head.. since it’s been a while since we had any decent ones. The one in Happy City food court in Kepong is not to shabby. but it still hasn’t met Gramps expectations.
We ordered a “Seng Kua Tofu” –RM6, and got this instead..
We were disappointed at first because we expected lots of Green petola as seen in a pic here..
I guess the waitress heard us wrongly. Nevertheless, we dug in, especially me cos i was hangry! From my workout, i bathed and headed to dinner.
Anyways, NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. The sauce was delish and we were slurpping away.. but i guess there’s some MSG in there cos it’s addictive! The tofu was ok. japanese tofu.. I love the egginess. hehe.
Finally, after a bit of waiting, the Claypot Curry Fish (we requested for fish meat for an extra RM2) RM20 finally came..
Portion was on the small side, and from the pic, it’s kinda oily..
Ok.. the fish curry was delish. veges were abundant. Lots of brinjals, tofu pok (dried beancurd).. No too spicy..
Fish on the other hand was abit too overcooked for me. It wasn’t soft. i’m not too sure what fish was used though.
Overall, it was a very good attempt. Gramps enjoyed it ALOT! Finished their rice!
